Masefield-Epson Limited was founded over 40 years ago and was originally located in Dudley, West Midlands. First registered in 1961 as ‘Masefield Plastimetals Limited’, its primary purpose was to serve the sanitaryware manufacturing industry, supplying plastic products in place of metal equivalents.
In the early years the claim was that it took the lead in the manufacture of a great number of plastic plumbing fittings previously only manufactured in metal, which are now in everyday use in the trade.
The manufacturing policy of this company from its inception has always been to serve the Builders Merchants, Sanitaryware and Cistern manufacturers with quality plumbing products and spares. This professional service has continually been reinforced by a highly trained workforce and led by directors with many years experience in most aspects of the industry.
During the first few years following the establishment of the company, Epson Products Limited was acquired, leading to the merger of the metal and plastic manufacturers. The new company quickly expanded and moved the manufacturing to larger premises.
Masefield-Epson Limited carried on with steady growth until the retirement of the original directors in 1989. In January of that year the company was purchased by the Thomas Dudley Group Limited. Masefield-Epson Limited was further developed with extended product ranges, new premises in Tipton and improved machinery.
In 1997 the manufacturing base was further increased with the acquisition of Automatic Syphon manufacturers, BBS Autosyphons, quickly followed in 1998 with the purchase of Holdtite Products Limited. Holdtite Products have been manufacturing tap washers and seals since their establishment in 1908, and are well known in the industry for the quality of their products.
With a strong manufacturing base capable of producing a wide range of plumbing spares, Masefield-Epson Limited is well placed to fulfil the requirements of Plumbers Merchants, Distributors and high volume manufacturing of components to the Plumbing and Sanitaryware manufacturing industry.
